¹⁶ ‘Since the day that I brought forth My people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city from any tribe of Israel to build a house where My name might be praised, but I chose David to be over My people Israel.’

¹⁷ “My father David had it in mind to build a house for the name of the Lord God of Israel. ¹⁸ The Lord said to my father David, ‘Whereas it was in your heart to build a house for My name, you had good intentions.
